Indiana State Fair

Meme and Papa Caulk came down for a visit last weekend and while they were here, they took Luke to the State Fair. We got to see some farm animals up close. Here he is feeding the goats.

He had a ball checking out all the big tractors on display (and sitting in just about every one he could get his hands on!).

Here he is on the "yeyow" tractor...

an antique one...

a toy one...

A big one with Daddy...

And sitting in the wheel of one that was too big to climb up into.

This boy has a slight obsession with tractors! On the way home, he just kept repeating "Big Ole Papa" (Luke still calls all tractors "papas", as a tribute to his Papa Pyle, who took him on his first tractor ride. Okay, maybe it's because it's easier to say than "tractor", but we think it's pretty cute and don't really want him to stop, so we don't correct him too often!). Of course Meme and Papa had to buy him his own toy tractor while we were there. He already has a few at home but this one is special. He still can't get enough of it a week later!

He also got to do a hands-on farming activity while he was at the fair. He got his very own apron and basket and did a good job going through each of the activities on the "farm".

Planting a "seed" with Mommy.

Sorting the produce in his basket.

Checking out the sunflowers with Papa.

Thanks for a great weekend Mom and Dad, and for these wonderful memories!
