The Potty Training Saga

We started potty training with Luke over 6 months ago, and I think we can say we are officially done (finally!). For the most part it was really easy. He was good to go for #1 about a week after we started. I think I could probably count the number of accidents he's had on one hand since November. We have come to learn that the kid really has an amazing bladder. There have been times that he has told us he needed to go while we were in the car about 15 minutes from home, and he's able to make it! We are still working on nighttime dryness, but that will come and we're not pushing it. The past couple of weeks, he's been going on his own without even telling us, using hand sanitizer and managing the lights and his clothes all on his own!

Now, pooping on the other hand, has been a major struggle. To make a long story short, we've had lots of constipation, screaming, refusing, crying, forgetting, back and forth between diapers and potty, and a little success mixed in to all this. But, he's finally going on a regular basis on the potty and not making it a major battle. So, here he is with his long-awaited poopy prize (okay...this is actually the second one...we tried bribing him twice, and we're not ashamed at all!)

Glad that is all behind us and here's to hoping that we don't turn back! :)
