Season of Advent

Following our tradition, we completed an advent activity each day of December leading up to Christmas (it was a bit more difficult this year because of school, but I got creative and we made the most of our weekends!). We continued to focus on giving to others, surprising teachers, bus drivers, neighbors and our mail lady with special gifts. We also mailed a box of snowflakes to friends in the south, and made grandparents laugh with a few Christmas jokes!

Our outings always provide for some great family memories!

One of our favorite activities is visiting a live nativity.

This year, he could read it to us!

Meme was able to join us at Jolly Days at the Children's Museum. Here, she and Luke take a ride on the Yule Slide.

We took Luke ice skating for the first time. Here is one of his first attempts.

And this was after a little more practice! Not bad!

We are so glad that Luke gets the real meaning of Christmas. We adore this picture he drew during the Christmas Eve service at church! His heart was ready to celebrate the coming of our "Savior to rescue us on this earth." (his own words from a bedtime prayer!)
