Walking and Talking!!

It's hard to believe, but our baby boy is walking and talking already!!

Luke took his first steps about a week ago. It was on a Saturday, so both Nate and I got to witness it. We were just thrilled for him and encouraged him to do it over and over again (of course!). Here is a video of some of his first steps from that day! The hat is the "bait" to get him to do it.



Luke also learned his first word recently! We're not terribly surprised that the word is "ball" since he has always loved balls so much. Right now, everything is a ball!

He likes to hold up his toys and have us name them. But lately, he's been showing them to us and saying "ball" for each one! We know he knows the actual meaning, but I think he's so excited that he just calls everything a ball right now! He also knows "dada" and "mama", but uses them on a limited basis...mostly "dada" when Nate comes home and he's excited to see him, and "mama" when he's upset or wants something.

It is crazy that I will begin planning Luke's first birthday party very soon (less than 2 months away!) and that before we know it, he'll be running and probably talking our ears off!
