Playing Catch Up!

Everyone always says those first few months with a newborn are so busy. People make you meals so you don't have to cook, friends offer to come hold your baby so you can nap, and family is in town to do your laundry and cleaning for you.

But...as I reflect back on those months, I can say with confidence that they weren't nearly as busy as the recent ones, with a very active almost one year old keeping me on my toes. Boy, I'd sure love some meals in the freezer and a maid service now! On top of the day to day fun (yeah...that's the word, I guess!), Luke has been sick for most of February with a bad cough and cold, and I have begun working two nights a week again at a dance studio in the area. All that to say, I have not been faithful to updating this blog for nearly a whole month!! So...this post is going to be devoted to playing a little catch-up. Details will be minimal to save you from a whole lot of reading, but the pictures and videos will be plenty!

Our sweet boy is so happy...

playful...

and silly, too!

He's curious...

and lots of fun to have around!!

He is becoming more and more affectionate with us every day, giving us hugs and kisses, and is finally willing to let us cuddle him a bit!!

...and he likes to cuddle his favorite toys too! We love it when he gives his froggy towel a hug goodnight when we hang it up on the hook in the bathroom after his bath at night.

He is so handsome...

getting so big (forward-facing in his car seat, now!)...

...and loves to be outside to "explore" and watch for birdies! (We had one nice week of weather last week and we went outside a lot. Now, he goes to the door every day, asking to go outside. Sorry buddy...just a few more weeks until spring!)

Here he is in his new toy box, built by his Great Grandpa Pyle and Grandpa Pyle! What a goof! :)

We can't believe that in just a few short weeks our baby boy is going to be celebrating his first birthday! Luke Alan Pyle, there are no words to express how much joy you have brought to our lives this past year. We love you so much!!
