2!

Two years ago today, God gave us one of the greatest gifts we've ever received.

Our hearts and our lives are much fuller because of our sweet Luke Alan. 

He is a curious and clever boy, and astonishingly perceptive. He is energetic and adventurous, with a big heart and a generous spirit that never fails to amaze us. 

Luke has just recently figured out the concept of "favorites", so I asked him what some of his favorites were one day earlier this week. I thought this might be fun to do each year to see how they change and develop (someone remind me I'm supposed to do it when he turns 3!). He answered most all of these without hesitation and if I had to guess for him, I think I would have been pretty close.

We will celebrate today as family, with spaghetti and meatballs for dinner (probably second favorite after pizza), and ice cream out at Handel's (it just so happens to be a beautiful day out so we can visit our favorite summer hang out!), then we will party with family and friends on Saturday!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Luke! We love you so much and can't wait to see what the next year has in store. We are excited and honored to watch as God continues to grow you into the boy he intended you to be!
