Colorado Ski Trip

We spent the first week of March in Breckenridge, Colorado, skiing with Nate's family. It was a great trip!

The trip started with Luke's first official plane ride! He was a great traveler (despite the fact that he threw up on the descent into Denver...poor kid!).

Whether it was the plane ride that set him off, the altitude adjustment, or just some weird virus, Luke was a little under the weather for the first morning we were there, but quickly turned around and hit the slopes (well...really just the bunny hill) for the afternoon, trying out this skiing thing his daddy had spoken so highly of.

It was a slow start, finding his balance with long things on his feet, figuring out he couldn't just lean on daddy, and navigating that magic carpet business; but Luke was determined and worked hard to get it.

Luckily, he had lots of "coaches"...

...which allowed Mommy and Daddy some time to do this:

...and for Daddy to do this (with Justin...not Mommy!):

Before long, Luke was looking like this:

And, by the end of the week, more like this:

Luke was so excited to be able to ride on the chairlift. He had been eyeing it all week and thought it was pretty neat when he was ready to ski on the big mountain! He did great, and has joined the ranks of Pyle-men skiers (he told Uncle Justin that he will be skiing with him in the bowls by the time he's 6...not if Mommy has a say, but aim high little buddy!)

When we were not skiing, we did a lot of this:

And, explored an ice cave one night too!

We are so grateful for time with family and the gift of this trip!

Before we headed home, we spent some time swimming at our hotel.

And then we crashed....literally!

Great family memories that we will always hold dear!
