He also has discovered the joy of rocks, particularly when they are thrown in the water. Not sure what it is about it, but he loves to watch the splash, hear the noise, and then imitate it ("Plup"!). We often spend time throwing rocks into our "creek" (a.k.a. drainage ditch) in our backyard. But, Luke needs our help to throw them the distance they need to go to reach the water. So...he came up with a way he could do it himself; throw them down the storm sewers!
Yes...we do this A LOT! Notice the different attire!
And, nothing can beat a walk in the woods to search for rocks...
And water to throw them into!
No doubt that he is "eyeing" his next rock find in this picture, rather than looking at the camera and posing with Daddy!
I know these next few pictures don't really fit the topic of the post, but I'm throwing them in anyway! Here is Luke discovering dandelion seeds.
And testing out his new-found skill on Mom!
Finally, here is Luke blowing on Dad's duck call. He thought this was so cool, and actually got a few ducks to drop by in the neighborhood!
It is so fun to watch Luke's pure joy in these simple things and he's teaching his Mommy and Daddy a few things about slowing down and enjoying God's little creations. Thanks buddy!
