Michigan Vacation

We spent a week up in Michigan at the end of July with Nate's parents. It was a fun-filled, relaxing, refreshing, wonderful week with family, full of good food, fun excursions, and just some time to rest and retreat from the busyness of life! There were so many good pictures from this trip, it was really hard to narrow them down (and as you can tell, I didn't narrow it down too far!).

We began the week with a visit to the beach on Lake Michigan. Luke did not hesitate one bit when he saw the water, and could not wait to put his feet in the sand, and roll around in the waves (which he did until he shivered and his lips turned blue!)

Of course, no trip to the beach would be complete without a climb and a run down the sand dunes!

Yep...Luke was a happy camper at the beach!

And, and an even happier one behind the wheel of Papa's boat!

Not so bad from our perspective either!

Luke also enjoyed some park time with Meme and Papa one evening, while Mommy and Daddy enjoyed a night out together!

And, the whole family ventured out to the nature center one morning for some elk viewing and hiking.

There was also some slip and slide action one evening after dinner.

And, a visit to the Critter Barn, where Luke could pet, feed, and hold animals to his heart's content.

These chicks were Luke's favorite (making his Papa, the poultry vet, so proud!)

Our trip ended with a late night bonfire, complete with s'mores (Luke's first experience with these tasty treats, and also his first night up late enough to see the dark summer sky and fireflies...lucky boy!)

We grabbed a few formal pictures while we were there. Here are the best shots!

Thank you, Barb and Dave, for providing a wonderful place for us to relax, play, and spend quality time with each of you! We love you!
